SIT
International Hostel is located at 10 Kwong Avenue, the junction
between MacPherson and Potong Pasir areas. Surrounding with a
private estate, the serene environment is very suitable for
International students to stay and do their studies.
Transport comprises public buses and the
north-east line of SMRT is easily accessible. The nearest SMRT
station is Potong Pasir. The buses are: 8, 13, 23, 26, 31, 61, 64,
65, 66, 90, 107, 125, 133, 142, 147, 151, 154, 853, 966 and NR6.
These routes will lead you to the city centres such as Bugis
Junction, Raffles City, Orchard Road, Chinatown and Toa Payoh, and
of course will pass-by Little India along the way.
The
facilities of the hostel comprise of a multi-purpose hall, reading
room, the computer room, basket ball courts and a big field.
We
also provide for the services such as airport reception and we also
assist in the process of student passes application for the students
of other private and public institutes.

In order to
maintain a safe and comfortable environment for students
staying and studying in the hostel, please take a moment to
read through the following and abide by the rules and
regulations of the hostel.
 |
All
students have to abide by the laws, regulations and
customs of The Republic of Singapore. Anyone failing
to do so will be held solely responsible to the
resulting consequences. |
 |
Respect
each student's culture, religion and nationality.

 |
Please
keep noise level to the minimum at all times. Avoid
shouting, playing loud music or causing noise
pollution to fellow roommates and the neighborhood.
Anyone who does not heed the second warning will
face a fine of S$50 from the rental deposit. |
 |
Gambling, drinking, drug taking, fighting, theft and
pornography is strictly prohibited in the hostel.
Such misdeeds will be dealt with severely and handed
over to the authorities. Student's parents will be
informed immediately. |
 |
Smoking
is prohibited within the hostel compounds other than
the allocated spots. Anyone caught smoking in the
compound or outside the allocated spots will be
subjected to a S $50 fine from the rental deposit. |
 |
Please
make a conscious effort to minimize wastage on
electricity and water. No lights should be left on
throughout the night and no taps should be left
unmanned. Air-con should not be left on when the
room is empty. Any room failing to abide to these
rules will face a fine of S$50 each for the entire
room (from the rental deposit) . |

No
keeping of pets allowed in the hostel. |
 |
Please
take care of the facilities and equipments in the
hostel. Any damaged properties will be charged at
cost price. Any malicious actions will face a fine
three times of the original price. |
 |
Please
keep the hostel clean. Spiting and littering are
prohibited. Throwing of litter from the window is
considered a crime in Singapore and will face severe
consequences. Cooking is prohibited in the hostel
compound. The hostel management has the right to
spot check the rooms. Untidy rooms will be issued a
warning and a fine of S$50 each for the entire room
if the warning is not heeded. |

Female
dormitory is strictly out of bounds to male students
and vice versa. No entering of others' rooms without
permission. |
 |
The
main gate will be locked by 11pm everyday. Also, no
visits to other students' rooms after 11pm. Any
discussions should be carried out in the common
areas. |
 |
Students are expected to take care of the keys
allocated. Keys should not be passed to others.
Damage or loss of keys must be reported immediately.

Students are expected to take care of their own
belongings and the hostel does not take
responsibility for any missing items. Note that
valuables can be passed to the hostel for
safekeeping if necessary. |
 |
Before
checking in, please make sure that the contract is
signed and the hostel fees are paid. Any outstanding
hostel fees after a week will be seen as terminating
of contract. |
 |
The
hostel management should be given a 2-week notice if
the student wishes to prolong his/her stay or
terminate his/her contract. |
